Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Synch and Licensing Manager to join our team. As a Synch and Licensing Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing synch and licensing opportunities for our artists’ music across various media platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse roster of talented musicians and contribute to their success on a global scale.
Daily Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the senior rights managers to ensure effective planning and execution of sync strategies.
- Identify and pursue synch and licensing opportunities for our artists’ music in TV, film, commercials, and other media.
- Develop and maintain relationships with music supervisors, production companies, and advertising agencies.
- Negotiate and finalise licensing agreements to ensure fair compensation for artists.
- Collaborate with internal teams to curate music libraries and pitch relevant tracks for synch placements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging opportunities in the synch and licensing landscape.
- Ensure proper rights clearance and copyright compliance for licensed music.
- Track and analyse synch and licensing activities to measure success and optimize strategies.
About You:
- Deep understanding of synch and licensing processes within the music industry.
- Proven experience in sync licensing, preferably within a music management or licensing company.
- Strong network and relationships with music supervisors and industry professionals.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to secure favorable licensing deals.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of copyright laws, music clearance, and licensing practices.
- Creative mindset with the ability to curate music libraries and match tracks to synch opportunities.
- Proficiency in music licensing platforms and industry-specific software.
Desirable Qualities:
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area.
- Familiarity with music publishing and royalty collection processes.
- Understanding of music metadata standards and best practices.
- Experience in pitching music for synch opportunities and crafting compelling music briefs.
- Knowledge of international sync and licensing markets.
- Strong analytical skills to track and evaluate synch and licensing activities.
- Passion for discovering new music and staying ahead of industry trends.
